Questions about the calculators
Are these calculators free?
Yes. Every calculator is free, needs no account and shows the full math on the page.
Which tax year do they use?
2026: the IRS brackets and standard deduction from Revenue Procedure 2025-32, the $184,500 Social Security wage base and each state's current schedules. We recheck every state when the next year's numbers come out each fall.
Which states have no income tax?
Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming do not tax wages. Washington does tax some large capital gains.
Do you keep what I type?
No. The math runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent or saved.
Is this tax advice?
No. The results are estimates for planning. Credits, local taxes and your employer's payroll settings can change the final number, so check big decisions with a tax professional.
