Is the $189 / $289 really one-time?

Yes. Lifetime license. Every product update is included. The only optional recurring charge is extra bank connections beyond what your plan includes ($3 per month, per extra connection). If you never add an extra bank, your $189 or $289 is the only charge you will ever see from BooksGPT.

What counts as one bank connection?

One financial institution login. So one Chase login covering your checking and two credit cards is one connection. A separate Bank of America login is a second connection. Stripe, Square, and PayPal each count as one connection. Solo includes 1, Business includes 3.

Why $3 per month for extra connections?

Because connecting a bank costs us real money. Plaid charges per active connection. The base plan covers most small businesses, but if you need more, we pass through near-cost rather than padding it into the sticker price for everyone.

Can I upgrade from Solo to Business later?

Yes, any time. Pay the $100 difference and the upgrade applies the same day. Your data carries forward. The extra bank slots, multi-entity workspaces, and 1120-S / 1065 handoff turn on immediately.

What about taxes and fees on the one-time charge?

Stripe handles US sales tax in the states that require it on SaaS, which is a small list. For most US customers the listed price is what you pay. For international customers, VAT or GST applies where required by your local law.

What if my business doubles next year? Will I outgrow Business?

Unlikely. The 4,000 AI categorizations per month on Business covers more than 99% of US SMBs we have measured. If you actually need more (high-volume e-commerce, multi-location retail), email us. We will work something out without putting you on a subscription treadmill.
